I'm Black Gate's Managing Editor whenever I'm not teaching English at a local university, or writing historical fiction and sword-and-sorcery, or taking care of two clever and mostly well-behaved children, or four horses, or dashing off to karate, or putting collections of Harold Lamb books together.

My short fiction has sold steadily for the last few years to a variety of markets, chief among them Black Gate, which is partly why I got asked on by John O'Neill to help with the magazine. As of January 2010, I'm writing full-time following a book deal from Thomas Dunne, an imprint of St. Martin's, for Dabir and Asim novels.
